Mother's Day

The girls and their dad treated me to a very nice Mother's Day. I didn't get to sleep in but that doesn't happen ever in this house anyway...so I really was not expecting that. Tim made me breakfast and then we went to a restaurant in Trevor, WI. It was right across the border by Tim's parents' house. Afterward we went to Rose and Pat's house for cake and pie, and then came home. It was a pretty relaxing day. The weather could have been better but we did not get too much rain so overall it ended up being decent. Saturday, the McClards came up for a visit. They are staying at Rose and Pat's so it was wonderful to have them come up here to see the house. They had not met Morgan yet so it was a perfect time to do that. Addyson really enjoyed having them here and since she knew they are diehard Cubs fans, she had to put on all her Cubs clothes to show off. We love spending time with them and wish we could see them more often. They are off to a Cubs game tonight and the weather is pretty nice so they should have a great time!

Saturday, Tim and I took Addyson to the Piggly Wiggly so she could decorate a Mother's Day cake. Here is a picture of her doing that and then a picture of the finished cake. It was beautiful and very tasty I may add. Although I really don't need to eat all these sweets. Just a few days before that she made pink cupcakes just like her favorite book, Pinkalicious. The pictures from that are in the slideshow. We had a lot of fun decorating those. She insisted on sprinkles but all I had were the Christmas ones....so they were lovely pink cupcakes with green and red sprinkles. This past week, Addyson got to fly her Curious George kite that she got for her birthday from Trenton and Triston. They showed her how to fly the kite and she has gotten pretty good at it. It is so fun to watch Addyson learn the joys of being a kid, and with all the new technology and toys out there these days, it is even more fun to see her enjoy something that we all did as kids.
