Spring is finally here!

Thank goodness the warm weather has finally arrived. Addyson was going a little stir crazy being stuck in the house after the nice weekend we had at the beginning of April. This past week has been great and we have been able to go to the park with the playgroup. This past Wednesday we met a few people at a park in Delafield and today we actually got to go to Fowler Park which is where we spent most of last summer. Addyson loves to swing and gets a little possessive over the swings so we need to work on sharing again with her. Tim worked on the yard most of this past weekend and Addyson played outside mostly with the neighbors, Trenton and Triston. Oh, and she also helped Tara plant some flowers, although I am not sure how much help she really was. She was filthy at the end of the day so I guess she is at the age where she will need a bath every night after playing outside. Aunt Diana, Uncle Bob, and Kaylee came over for dinner on Saturday night and Addyson took Kaylee for a ride in the Jeep. All we could think about was how in 13 years, they will be doing the same thing except it will be a real car! Oh boy! I don't really want to even think of that yet!

Morgan is now 21 weeks old. Hard to believe! She is growing up so fast already and before you know it, it will be her first birthday. She went to the doctor again this past week to get her ear checked and she is now 13 pounds and 25 1/4 inches long. She still refuses to roll over after she did it at 15 weeks, but she somehow gets herself around when you lay her on the floor. You just look away for a second and she has moved into a completely different position. I try to hide and watch her to see if she will do it when she thinks I am not looking, but nope! She must be on to me or something. She still smiles a lot and is always blowing raspberries and laughing at her sister. She is a pretty happy baby most of the time. We are working on her scheduled morning nap: some days she takes it no problem, others not so well. On the days that she goes to Kids Corner, they say she sleeps the entire time which works for me since I can work out without them coming to get me. Addyson had her 3 year checkup last week and is finally growing into her age bracket. She still is pretty skinny at a whopping 28 pounds (25th %) but she is 37 inches tall which is in the 40th percentile. She'll catch up with her peers one of these days. (Maybe!)

So this picture was taken today at Fowler Park and is of Addyson with her friends, Maggie and Lucie....or as she now says, "Her Posse." It is so fun to watch them play together instead of parallel playing. They kept climbing up there and then sliding down together, and then they would laugh and do it again. Every time, they would wait for each other and none of the three would slide down without the others. I love watching Addyson make new friends on her own and with her, once she knows your name, she talks about you all the time. She was talking to other kids today at the park and I even noticed her talking to some of the moms that aren't a part of our playgroup. She is getting pretty brave which I am not sure if that is good or not. She has made new friends at Kids Club (at the YMCA) and she tells me every time if they were there or not. The memory on a child is amazing....I am lucky if I remember a new moms name after meeting them two or more times! (My excuse is momnesia which was reported on the Today show about a month ago. haha!) This week she starts a few new classes including swim lessons (by herself), ballet and tap class, and yoga with me (that should be interesting.) We'll let you know how they all go. Enjoy this weather...with our luck, it will probably be back in the 50s by May. :O)

Addyson is 3!

I cannot believe my little girl is 3 years old! She is so excited about it because she knows that she gets to start ballet lessons and preschool. We had a birthday party on Friday with her playgroup and we served lunch and cake and ice cream. She had a great time (even though she had trouble sharing her new guitar) with all the kids. I think there were about 13 - 14 different families here and believe it or not, the mess wasn't too substantial. I had the floors cleaned up in no time. :O) Addyson talked about the party for the rest of the day. She told me that she had a great birthday and that evening she requested to go to Applebee's and the waitresses sang to her and gave her 3 pink balloons. She was thrilled. She got a few more presents that morning including her pink guitar and microphone, a Princess tent, and a tutu and yoga outfit. She understands birthdays now and even said, "my birthday is over" the next morning when she woke up. It still amazes me how quickly my baby girl is growing up.

Today we went to Kidsfest with Aunt Diana and Kaylee, and Luanne, Lucie and Henry. We met Audra, Maggie, and Layla at the Erock show and all the girls had a great time dancing. Some of the pictures in the slideshow show them having fun. (Sorry some of them are blurry, my little camera doesn't take very good pictures.) We saw Curious George, Clifford, the Berenstain Bears and a crazy looking Pirate. At 1:00, Addyson was on the hunt for a balloon animal and we did find the area with them, and lucky us, we were the last ones to get them. Although we did have to wait for over an hour to get pink puppies for Addyson and Lucie, it was worth the wait to see the smiles on the girls' faces.

Morgan's Baptism and Addyson's Family Birthday Party

Saturday was Morgan's baptism. She decided to sleep horribly the night before and then with all the excitement she barely napped, so I was a little nervous about what may happen once we got to the church that afternoon. She was somewhat fussy when we were at the church and pretty much drank a bottle the entire time before her actually baptizing occured during the mass. When we got her up in front of the congregation, she did much better and didn't get upset when they poured the water on her head. Overall she did pretty good even when Father David carried her around the church to show all the members the newest member of all.

That same day we had a birthday party for Addyson with her immediate family. Both sets of grandparents and her aunts and uncles came to celebrate with her. She got a lot of great stuff including the Barbie Jammin Jeep. She loves it and wants to drive it all the time. She has a hard time turning the wheel right now, but I figure she will get better as she continues to practice with it. She also got a new bike with training wheels and a helmet, a ball pit, two Curious George dolls, books, a princesss swimsuit and towel, and a lot of other fun stuff that should keep her busy for awhile. She was very good about the fact that she had to blow out candles on Morgan's baptism cake but she knows that she will have a Curious George cake for her actual birthday on the 11th.

Morgan's 4 Month Dr Appointment

Today, our little Morgan had to go to the doctor for her 4 month checkup. The poor thing had to get 3 shots but she only cried for a few minutes after the initial needle poking her. She is doing great so far today and is as happy as ever. Considering the doctor discovered an ear infection in her right ear, I can't believe how much she has been smiling. She is getting over a cold that her and Addyson shared last week. So anyway, Morgan only weighs 12 pounds, 2 ounces and is in the 25th percentile for weight and is 23 3/4 inches tall which puts her in the 40th percentile for height. As of right now, she is smaller than Addyson was at this age except for the chunky legs.....it looks like she may be a petite little thing like her big sister.

We have been crazy busy again with going to Peoria last week for Grandma Vi's funeral and this week getting ready for Morgan's baptism and Addyson's 3rd birthday. It is finally nice outside and I have so much to do with preparations that I don't know when I am going to get the girls out to enjoy it. Hopefully, we can sneak out today for a short walk around the neighborhood.

So Cubs season has started and Addyson can't wait until she gets to go to a game. She watched the game with me on Monday and kept asking me to "fast forward" it so she could see Daddy at the game. She doesn't quite get the concept that he is watching the game, not playing in it. She kept saying Fukudome after he hit the home run and even said his name to Daddy right before she fell asleep that night...or at least that is what Tim says. :O) Since I don't have any pictures for this post, I am adding this YouTube video as way to get us all excited about this team. We can't wait to go to a few games this year in Chicago. Let's just hope we get good weather when we go. Go Cubs!

I will post again after this weekend and upload the pictures from Morgan's baptism and Addyson's birthday celebration with her family.
